The driver picked up a woman and two babies waiting in the cold this morning. It was in the city so who knows how long they would have been waiting for a DDOT.

Passed me by

This morning in the pouring rain I flagged down the limited bus and the driver slowed down but kept going. I was mad. The next bus was right behind so it wasn't long of a wait. The driver said, "oh that may be a new driver. There is no limited sign. I might have done the same thing." I asked, " are you new?" She replied, "I've been driving for ten years." I didn't respond because I felt it was a stupid answer. Shortly after she said, "we're human you know". I replied, " I didn't intimate that you weren't". I'm expected to know my job and I've made mistakes. If she was in doubt she still could have picked me up what's the harm in that.

Naked at the bus stop

This morning as the bus was heading downtown I saw a man at a bus stop in the city totally naked. It was at Harper. He had a smile on his face and another guy behind him was taking a photo. I was talking with a rider and we both we facing the window as we passed the naked man. All I could do was laugh because it was so random.

Bus rear ended

The bus stopped at seven mile this evening and the vehicle behind us did not. We were picking up people and the collision happened. The driver had to be distracted to run into a big bus. Thankfully no one was hurt. Be alert and careful people.

Yelling Man

I was walking to my bus stop to go home and I heard a man yelling "ting" and punching the air like you may do in a marshal arts class. It could have been "king" too. He would take short breaks but continued. I was about twenty feet away and a woman said in almost a whisper, " so help me if he comes over here I'll knock him out." It made me chuckle. I was thinking I had seen and heard this type waiting for the bus before.

Once Again I Have To Stumble Upon It

This morning at my usual bus stop I noticed that someone pooped in the shelter. This happened a while ago and I thought it was a one time occurrence. Since that time I won't wait in the shelter accept near the entrance and I definitely will not be sitting on the bench. The shelter is missing two plastic wall panes so it's in need of some attention. I hope other people know to be careful or they will end up with poop on their shoes.

Missed my bus

I missed my bus but I got to visit with a former coworker. She was telling me about a trip to Italy. The pictures on her phone were nice. It was a nice way to wait for the next bus.

Didn't Believe Me

A woman who I've occasionally seen at the bus stop in the morning was walking up to the stop when I told her the 560 went by a minute or two earlier. She ignored me. When the bus I take came up she asked the driver if she stopped at six mile road. She said no because she was the limited route with no stops in the city until downtown. The woman who was on her phone the whole time and blocking my way on it said, " you are supposed to".  The driver closed the door on her and drove away. If she would have listened to me she would have known she missed her bus.

Hysterical woman

A woman startled the bus on the way home tonight by yelling, "Oh, My God is that a bee!" She ran to the back of the bus and asked someone to kill it. I would assume she has an allergy by her reaction. A guy at the front of the bus killed the bee for her.

What the heck was going on?

I was waiting to go home on Thursday and this family of four was among the throngs of folks at the bus stop. This girl who seemed to be around 10 was crying periodically very loud. I happened to look over and the father came up to the group of people I was standing with and asked if he should see an attorney about his girls lip being cut by a dentist. It didn't look too bad to me, it looked more like a cold sore, and I told him I wasn't sure. He proceeded to say that they wouldn't let him in the back of the dental office and the daughter told him that they kept grabbing her arm to be quiet. I told him that he should look into it. He proceeded to tell his daughter I'm going to get a lawyer for you honey and we're going to be set and you won't be in any pain. Good luck with that case. Thankfully my bus arrived and I was able to get out of there. They seemed to be a family of con artists.

Close call

The bus this morning came a little to close to a truck. All of a sudden this woman yells, "Oh, my goodness" as the mirror of the truck was about to hit the bus window. It didn't but she perked everyone on the bus up. A few people chuckled about it.

Winter Wonderland

This morning was a real chore trudging through the snow drifts. Thankfully the driver of the limited stopped for me at a stop she wasn't supposed to. There were two other people on the bus for a real quiet ride in. Glad I left early.

Wanted My Name

I walked up to my bus stop this morning and a woman I've seen one time before asked me if the busses have generally been on time. I told her they have within a few minutes. She asked for my name and I gave her my first name. She wanted to be sure I was a regular bus patron and asked if she could have my last name so I could be a witness for when she goes to court over the bus not being on time. I told her I'd rather not. The 560 was pulling up and she got on it.

Straw beer rita

Sitting across from a couple of young women and one is drinking a straw-beer-its at 8:00 a.m. with Doritos and grandma's cookies. Breakfast of champions.

Wet seat

It was quite the uncomfortale ride home this afternoon due to a leaky bus. The rain had passed through earlier so I wasn't even thinking things may be wet. The second I sat in my seat at the rear end of the bus I got soaked to the skin. All the way home in the dry seat in wet clothes was uncomfortable. I did have a little of empathy from a co-rider who did the same thing. You could see water in the light fixtures sloshing around and a slow drip coming from the speakers. That bus needs to be sealed up.

Standing in the bus stop tonight I noticed a strange posting taped to the wall but it made no sense to me.
A fellow rider suggested it might be a rap but it didn't seem like one. It was more like random thoughts.

Flying Tire

As I was walking up to the bus stop a pickup truck was losing it's rear tire. It came off flying in my direction and landed against a Coney island. I watched it barrel on through as if they had no idea they were riding in their rim. Pretty exciting morning. Wacky Wednesday.

Warning to all Riders about your phones

It was conveyed to me about two separate incidents of attempted robberies on Smart Buses. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. People with Smart phones are being targeted. As people on the bus are using their phones the alleged perpetrators are trying to swipe the phones as they exit the bus. I was told by eye witnesses that the phones were not taken but there were assaults in the attempts. If you are so into your phone be aware that you may be targeted if you are near an exit. This post is only meant as a precaution and to be aware at all times in public with your phones.
